About us
Dynamite Fighting Systems is the name of the club, which Henderson founded and set up the first class in Dulwich on the 2nd of October 2004. It is mainly a Thai Boxing camp but as it is a fighting system, there are classes in ground fighting and submission wrestling too. There will also be reality-based training for members of the club and that is based around practical self-defence. These sessions will be taught separately from the Thai Boxing sessions.
Our Thai Boxing classes
The classes consist of a general warm up for preparation, pad work and partner work. Extremely practical for self-defence, conditioning and fitness.
A friendly environment, suitable for all, whether beginner, intermediate or advanced. You do not have to be a member of the Leisure Centre to train in the class and you do not need to book for a class.
Bring a bottle of water with you and wear tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt. Everybody in the class is friendly and you'll learn in a safe environment.
Thai Boxing involves a lot of cardio, conditioning (press ups etc), fighting technique and self defence. The training is geared towards improving fitness. The classes are fairly intense but you go at your own pace.
If you have not done any training and are new to this art, then it would be best if you attend the beginners Thursday night class. Of course, you can join in with the other classes if that suits you better.
If, after a while, you wish to take gradings and you have taken out the club's annual insurance and membership, then that is on offer too. Gradings help you to see progress. Not everybody wants to do them, but it might be your own personal goal to achieve a high level by taking them. There is no obligation to grade.
Extreme Thai Circuits
Just like the title says, these ARE extreme!! Drills with the aglity ladder, cones, kettlebells, pads, lots of strength, conditioning and cv work is done in these early morning sessions for an all round workout. All are welcome to join in, however, you must book in advance and pay by coming into the leisure centre on one of our training nights.
