Thai Boxing Q and A's
Is Thai Boxing good for weight loss?
Yes!!!! 20 minutes of Thai Boxing is equivelant to running on an exercise bike for 45mins. Thai Boxers have to be fully conditioned to fight in the ring and so the training gears them for this. Remember, training must be supplemented by a good diet and healthy lifestyle.
Do I have to be an advanced practitioner of Thai Boxing to train at one of the camps in Thailand?
No, most camps in Thailand cater for foreign students of any level. There are however, a small few that will not show much interest unless you are a semi or pro fighter. It will mean doing a bit of research into the different camps.
Can anyone learn?
Anybody can learn this fighting art; it just takes time, patience and plenty of practice!
How will I know if I’m ready to grade?
Generally speaking, the syllabus will be given to students 5 to 6 weeks before the grading should the instructor feel that the person is ready. Students should familiarise themselves with the syllabus and consult the instructor before deciding to take the grade.
How long will it take me to get to a senior level?
There is no hard rule on this; a student who attends training on a weekly basis and picks up the techniques very quickly can obviously expect to improve in a short period. Learning is an ongoing thing and even instructors need to take refresher courses and attend seminars to pick up new ideas.
I would like to become a Coach for Dynamite Fighting Systems, how would I go about this?
Certainly by the time a student reaches 7 - 8th grade, they will be expected to assist in warm ups and teach beginners basic techniques. Those who decide that after they get their 9th grade they want to teach will be trained specifically on a Coaching course. There will be lots of support from the Head Coach.
Can I pay as I go?
You can pay as you go, however, if you are training on a regular basis, it works out cheaper to pay monthly.
